The Anglican Bishop of Tasmania, The Right Revd Dr Richard Condie will lead a special service at St David’s Cathedral Hobart, at 10am on Saturday 17th February.

“I have the joy of ordaining three people as Deacons, commissioning an Archdeacon and the new General Manager for our Diocese,” said Bishop Condie.

“All five people are capable leaders who will contribute to our long-term vision to be a church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus.  It is especially encouraging to have gifted young people ready to serve God in this way. I have no doubt they will be a blessing to the communities in which they live and serve,” he said.

Jamie Bester will be ordained to serve in the Sorell, Richmond and Tasman Parish. Jamie has a great understanding of people’s struggles and is planting a new church in the Southern Beaches region.

Also ordained will be Jacob Crane who is working in the Parish of Northside. Jacob’s heart is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Glenorchy, bringing people to faith and nurturing those whom already know and love the Lord Jesus.

The third Ordinand is Tristan Dallas who is working in the Parish of St George’s Battery Point. Tristan loves reading the Bible and sharing the good news that Jesus really has been raised from the dead.

The Ven Stephen Savage is being commissioned as the Archdeacon of the Derwent and South-East Mission Network.

James Oakley is being commissioned as the Registrar/General Manager of the Diocese of Tasmania.
