Shaping the future - Donate today to support our future ministry leaders
Our Vision is to be a church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus. This means doing what only we can do—seeing people become disciples who make more disciples. Our leadership pipeline is fundamental to carrying out God's work here in Tasmania. Our pipeline begins with our Parishes, where leaders are identified and nurtured. It continues through initiatives such as our LiT (Leaders in Training) camps, young leader dinners, traineeships, and theological study programs. It leads to women and men serving in vocational ministry—as youth workers, chaplains, or ordained ministers, including Curates and future Rectors. Our trainees across the Diocese make a significant contribution to our local churches as they continue to grow and develop.
Previously these programs have been funded by legacy gifts - bequests that people have left us in their wills and the capital from the sale of some diocesan assets. With those funds we have supported campers, part funded trainees in partnership with parishes, given theological study grants, supported full time theological students, and provided grants to Parishes to take on a Curate. Those legacy funds are starting to run very low.
By supporting our mission, every Tasmanian Anglican can play a part in building a strong leadership team for the future. Our young leaders will be well supported. Our ministers will be well formed and trained deeply to minister in a changing world.
Thank you so much for your generous support of our future ministry leaders.
