Hospital Mental Health Chaplain
SEARCHING FOR: a mental health chaplain for the Royal Hobart Hospital
In Hobart’s northern suburbs lies the Roy Fagan Centre, a government run centre that assesses and treats elderly persons with mental illness and dementia. Anglican Health and Welfare are looking for a part-time chaplain and pastoral carer to support the patients, visitors and staff of the Roy Fagan Centre, as well as the inpatient units of Tasmania’s largest hospital, the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The successful applicant will have a keen interest in mental wellbeing across all age groups, great listening skills, and the ability to engage with people dealing with loss, grief, trauma, dementia and other mental health issues. It is expected that the successful applicant will have a vibrant personal faith in Jesus, and will have either already completed or be willing to complete two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
AHW is a child safe organisation and successful applicants will be screened and trained.
