The Reverend Joel Nankervis was inducted as Priest in Charge to the Parish of Circular Head on Saturday 11 March.
The service was led by Bishop Richard at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Smithton with representatives from other denominations and the Circular Head Council in attendance.
This is the first time in almost 20 years that the Parish of Circular Head has had full time stipendiary ministry. The appointment was made possible by a new ministry grant from the Diocesan Council and the generous contribution of other parishes in the Diocese.
“We give thanks to God for the faithful commitment of many volunteers and the Ministry team, particularly Reverend Lorna Crole, who have served this Parish and kept it viable over nearly two decades,” said Bishop Richard.
“I’m very excited about the future of the Parish of Circular Head. This is not about the congregation stepping down but about a new opportunity of gathering for a confident future,” he said.
