Protective Behaviours Resource

Protective Behaviours Program

Creating a child safe organisation

This resource provides an opportunity for strengthening our child safe strategies.

The pack is designed to be presented to upper primary school aged children attending a youth group.

Why do we have this resource?

The Anglican Church in Tasmania has policies and procedures aimed at protecting children.

However, our children may not realise that these policies exist, and often don’t know what to do if they feel unsafe.

A successful Protective Behaviours program needs parent involvement and support.

There are two main messages that children need to learn:

We all have the right to feel safe all of the time.

Nothing is so awful that we can’t talk with someone about it.
