This prayer is designed for each of us to pause and add our own prayer sentences and to keep developing the prayer. There are three sections to it:

  • What I see;
  • What I hear;
  • What I do.
  • Then a summary section of what I see, hear and do TODAY.

When I look at the Cross what do I see?

  • When I look at the Cross I see love – pure unadulterated love.
  • When I look at the Cross I see that Jesus died for me.
  • When I look at the Cross I see hope for a new beginning.
  • When I look at the Cross I see that my sins are forgiven and I am free.

When I look at the Cross what do I hear?

  • When I look at the Cross I hear “It is finished”.
  • When I look at the Cross I hear that Jesus completed his mission on earth.
  • When I look at the Cross I hear that now God is my Father and I am his child.
  • When I look at the Cross I hear that I am accepted.

When I look at the Cross what do I do?

  • When I look at the Cross I bow before Jesus.
  • When I look at the Cross I say thank you.
  • When I look at the Cross I say ‘‘Yes’ to you Jesus. I will follow you.
  • When I look at the Cross I go to tell others about Jesus.

What do I see, hear and do when I look at the Cross TODAY?

  • When I look at the cross TODAY I see that Jesus is not there he is risen.
  • When I look at the Cross TODAY I hear that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me.
  • When I look at the Cross TODAY I choose to believe that the risen Lord lives in me and that I can live in the same power moment by moment.
