Positions Vacant

Come and join God’s mission in Tasmania!

Would you like to come and join a great team of church leaders, working together to fulfil our shared vision to see A church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus?

We regularly have opportunities for Rectors (Senior Ministers) to lead revitalisations in local churches, as well as for Rectors to build on currently fruitful ministries.

There are also opportunities for Assistant Ministers (curates), Families, Youth and Children’s ministry positions, and church planters as part of our church planting strategy.

Our Diocesan Vision is that all clergy will have a lively and growing relationship with Jesus and be convinced of the Bible’s centrality, with a commitment to preaching and teaching it. We seek Rectors who will be highly skilled leaders of change, mission, and disciple-making ministries. They will be committed to ongoing personal and professional development, and review.

We place a high value on providing training and support and Professional Supervisors for all our ministry leaders, and work together as a team across Tasmania.

The Diocese of Tasmania encourages the ministry of both women and men in all spheres of our church life. We support the ordination of women in the Church as deacons and priests, and women have significant leadership roles in the Diocese. We recognise a diversity of views on this topic. We do not require a specific view to be held by our ministry leaders, however we expect all our ministry leaders to act with charity in accordance with this policy, and to be raising up and training more women to serve as God has gifted them.

Please pray and seek God if you think this might be you.  All current positions are advertised on this page, but you can also contact Stephen Carnaby, Director of Ministry Development (DMD@anglicantas.org.au) to find out about any upcoming roles not yet advertised, express general interest in future ministry possibilities, and to find out more about ministry in Tasmania.

Please note that for any overseas applicants we are unable to assist with Australian Visa requirements.
