Fostering Hope Chaplain

Chaplain for Foster, Kinship, and Informal Carers 

This part time role is enabled by funding from Anglican Health and Welfare (AHW). The role will be 0.2 FTE (8 Hours per week). One day per week with Fostering Hope. Fostering Hope and AHW will manage and support the Chaplain training, resourcing, and time management.

Position:

  • Part time – 0.2 FTE (8 hours per week)
  • One day per week (can be spread across multiple days)

Responsibilities:

  1. To provide a chaplaincy service to foster, kinship and informal carers in southern Tasmania throughout their fostering journey – pre-placement, during placement, and after placement.
  2. To offer practical support to carers via connection to local churches and services.
  3. To be part of the Fostering Hope team.
  4. To be part of the Anglican Health and Welfare Chaplains network.

Requirements:

  1. Have an active Christian faith
  2. Based in Southern Tasmania
  3. Chaplaincy qualifications or proven experience
  4. Commitment to child safety and wellbeing
  5. Completion of Child Safe and Faithfulness in Service Training of the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania
  6. Be willing to sign a General Declaration of Assent to the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania and be subject to a licence from the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania
